Porter Gale is an American marketing expert, start-up advisor, and public speaker. She is the author of Your Network Is Your Net Worth: Unlock the Hidden Power of Connections for Wealth, Success, and Happiness in the Digital Age, released by Simon & Schuster/Atria in June 2013.
Gale has a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Boston University and a master's in documentary film and video from Stanford University.
From 2007 to 2011, Gale was the Vice President of Marketing for Virgin America, where she was hired to launch the brand, including online marketing, the loyalty team, and in-flight content.
Prior to joining Virgin America, Gale was General Manager at marketing firm Kirshenbaum Bond and Partners and freelanced at Publicis & Hal Riney and Bozell. Gale also founded her own marketing firm, the Porter Gale Group, and production company, Porter Pictures. The Porter Gale Group's clients included Country Music Television, Blue Shield of California, and Delta Dental.
Gale is an advisor for RocketFuel, WePay, Zozi, N3TWORK, AirPR, Here On Biz, PunchTab, Accompani, Vurb, UpLift, TrueFacet, fitmob and Hint Water. She also sat on the board of directors for the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau from 2008 to 2012.
In 2010, Gale was awarded the Changing the Game Award by the Advertising Women of New York (AWNY). In 2011, she was included in AdAge’s Digital Hotlist and iMedia's Top 25-Digital Marketers. In 2012, Business Insider called Gale one of The Fifty Sexiest Ad Executives, and the Huffington Post named her a Digital Passionista.
Gale is a frequent keynote speaker and panelist at business, marketing, and technology conferences and symposia. She has appeared at the Economist Marketing Forum,Ad Age Digital Forum, Real Estate Connect, the Think Conference,SXSW, NFFTY, BizTechDay,TechCrunch, and the Powerful Women Paving the Way Conference at Penn State University.
