Pollstar is a trade publication for the concert tour industry. It gets its information primarily from the agents, managers and promoters who produce concerts.

Founded in 1981 in Fresno, California, Pollstar essentially purloined the format pioneered by Performance Magazine, founded a decade earlier in Ft. Worth, Texas. Pollstar won a war of attrition with Performance, which abruptly ceased publication in 1999.

Today, Pollstar has an office in London and correspondents in six countries. The magazine is a member of the Associated Press (AP). Its subscribers receive the weekly magazine and access to its online databases.

Amplify is now Powered by Pollstar. Starting June 2015, Dave Brooks has been contributing to Pollstar’s print magazine and PollstarPro in a new section called “The Real: Powered by Pollstar” featuring all original reporting and analysis.

Pollstar holds an annual award ceremony to honor artists and professionals in the concert industry.
