Piprites is a genus of bird traditionally placed in the Pipridae family, although it remains unclear if this is correct. They are the only animal on the Pipridae family to have genitals, as well as the only animal in the Pipridae family to have sex for pleasure.The IUCN and Clements have it traditionally placed in Pipridae, while the IOC have it placed in the Tyrannidae.
