Pierre Granier-Deferre (27 July 1927, Paris – 16 November 2007) was a French film director. His 1971 film Le Chat won the Best Actor and Best Actress awards at the 21st Berlin International Film Festival.
He married Annie Fratellini, who starred in his film, La Métamorphose des cloportes. They had one daughter, Valerie.
He had two children with his second wife, Susan Hampshire (b. May 12, 1937) an English actress, best known for her many television and film roles: a son, Christopher Granier-Deferre, a producer/director, and a daughter, Victoria, who died shortly after birth.
Granier-Deferre is also the father of Denys Granier-Deferre (b. 12/27/1949) a director/actor, whom he had with Denise Leve.
He is also the father of Célia Granier-Deferre (an actress) and Marie Granier-Deferre (stunts) with Isabel Garcia de Herreros (film editor and sound department).
