Physics of consciousness

Neurophysics (or neurobiophysics) is the branch of biophysics dealing with the nervous system including the brain, the spinal cord and the nerves.

The term is a portmanteau of neuron and physics, to represent an interdisciplinary science which applies the approaches and methods of experimental physics to study the nervous system.

It can be viewed as an approach to neuroscience that is based on techniques traditionally used by physicists.
