Phaeothlypis is a genus of bird in the Parulidae family. They are found at low levels near water in humid forests and woodlands in the Neotropics. In the past they have commonly been included in Basileuterus. Although most authorities now recognize two species in Phaeothlypis, phylogenetic evidence suggests the species limits may require a re-evaluation.
