Phạm Hùng (Vĩnh Long, June 11, 1912 – Hanoi, March 10, 1988) was the Prime Minister of Vietnam from 1987 to 1988.
Phạm Hùng was born on June 11, 1912, in Vĩnh Long Province, in the Mekong River Delta of southern Vietnam. He joined the Indochinese Communist Party in 1930 and he was sentenced to death by the French before having the sentence commuted. In 1945, he was the revolutionary government take a boat to Con Dao picked and served as Interim Secretary of the Party Committee of the Cochinchina. He worked as a revolutionary against the French and after the Battle of Dien Bien Phu rose rapidly in the party. In 1958 he became Deputy Prime Minister.
During the Vietnam War he acted as commissar to the Vietcong. He also served as Interior Secretary before his relatively brief period as Prime Minister.
