Peter Høj is a Danish chemist who lives in Australia. Since 2012, he has been the Vice Chancellor of the University of Queensland. He was previously Vice Chancellor of the University of South Australia from 2007 until 2012.
Høj was Managing Director of the Australian Wine Research Institute between 1997 and 2004 and Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Research Council between 2004 and 2007. He was a private member of the Prime Minister’s Science Engineering and Innovation Council (PMSEIC) from 1999 until 2004, and an ex-officio member from 2006 until 2007. He was appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of South Australia in 2007 and held the position until 2012.
He was a member of the CSIRO Board from 2011 until 2014, and was a member of the Australian Research Committee (ARcom) from 2012 until 2014.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and a Foreign Member (Natural Sciences Class) of The Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters.
