Permanent magnet motor

A permanent magnet motor is a type of brushless electric motor that uses permanent magnets rather than windings in the rotor.

This type of motor is used in the Chevy Spark EV and Chevy Bolt EV. It is more efficient, but also more likely to overheat, than an induction motor.
