Pegaeae

In Greek mythology, the Pegaeae (/pəˈdʒiː.i/; Πηγαῖαι) were a type of naiad that lived in springs. They were often considered great aunts of the river gods (Potamoi), thus establishing a mythological relationship between a river itself and its springs.
