Peñasco is a census-designated place (CDP) in Taos County, New Mexico, United States. It is on the scenic High Road to Taos. The population is estimated at about 1,200 (2015).
Peñasco is located at 36°10′19″N 105°41′22″W / 36.17194°N 105.68944°W (36.172073, -105.689491).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km²), all land.
