Paul Simm is an English musician, composer and record producer, known for his work with Amy Winehouse, the Sugababes and Neneh Cherry.
Paul Simm, born in Birmingham, discovered the piano aged five, mostly self-taught he rapidly progressed, performing regular gigs by age eleven. He later took up trumpet and was invited in 1990 by David Hinds of Steel Pulse to play & arrange horns for Grammy Award nominated album, Victims.
At twenty Simm, now London based, continued as a session musician playing alongside Carleen Anderson, Pops Staples, Mica Paris, Baby D, Charles & Eddie and MC Solar.
He swapped touring for the studio full-time at twenty seven, working on All Saints' debut album and co-writing and producing tracks for the Sugababes, including BRIT Award nominated single Overload, which reached number 6 on the UK Singles Chart. Simm also co-wrote Siobhán Donaghy’s top 20 debut single Overrated and has written &/or produced tracks for Amy Winehouse, Neneh Cherry, Mutya Buena, G. Love, Groove Armada, Beverley Knight & Tom Jones.
