Paul Hughes (priest)

The Ven. Paul Vernon Hughes (born 4 August 1953) is the current Archdeacon of Bedford.

Hughes was educated at Moorfields School, Ghyll Royd School, Pocklington School and the Polytechnic of Central London. He then trained at Ripon College, Cuddesdon from 1979-1982. After an earlier career as a Residential Property Surveyor he was ordained in 1983 and began his career in Chipping Barnet. After a curacy at Chipping Barnet he was Vicar of Dunstable (1986–1993) then Boxmoor (1993–2003). He is married to Canon Liz Hughes, who is the Senior Chaplin at Luton Airport.
