The Palace of the Count Of Flanders is a former Belgian Royal residence, located in Brussels. Currently it houses the Court of Audit of Belgium.
Originally it was the property of the Lord Paul Arconati-Visconti. In 1866 the Count of Flanders bought the residence one year before his marriage. He had the palace rebuilt by his architect Gustave Saintenoy. It features a small inner garden, which leds to the Entry of honour. After the works the new Count and Countess made it their family home. After the death of the Count's children sold the residence to the Banque de Bruxelles
Saintenoy designed the great ball room, unfortunately this fine room was destroyed in 1921. Inside the major rooms with fine interiors are kept in the state of the royal residents. The palace became a listed monument on 06 september 2001.
King Albert I was born here, and his brother Prince Baudouin died here.
