P. Dhanapal is a Indian politician and incumbent Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. He is currently the Speaker for the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. Previously, he was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate from Sankagiri constituency in the 1977, 1980 and 1984 and 2001 elections. In the 2011 and 2016 Tamil Nadu assembly elections he won from Rasipuram and Avanashi constituencies respectively.
