Osprey is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sarasota County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,100 at the 2010 census. It is part of the BradentonSarasotaVenice Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Osprey is located at 27°11′38″N 82°29′10″W / 27.19389°N 82.48611°W / 27.19389; -82.48611 (27.193962, -82.486012).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.1 square miles (16 km2), of which 5.5 square miles (14 km2) is land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2) (10.05%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4,143 people, 1,965 households, and 1,383 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 759.5 people per square mile (293.0/km²).
