Onsari Gharti Magar is the first female Speaker of the Parliament of Nepal. She was elected unopposed as Speaker on October 16, 2015.
She served as Deputy Speaker of Parliament and was Minister of Youth and Sports in the cabinet of Jhala Nath Khanal. She was elected to the Constituent Assembly (CA) from Rolpa constituency-2 in the second CA election.
She is married to Barsha Man Pun. Barsha Man Pun is secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist-Centre) (CPN (Maoist)).
