The Official Mixtape Awards, established in 2010 by Milton McClymont, were held annually in the United Kingdom, with the purpose of recognizing music professionals and businesses of the mixtape culture. It has now expanded as an international event.
The first official mixtape awards was held on 15 January 2010 at the Portsmouth Guildhall. The award show consisted of seven categories and featured live performances from Sway, Bashy, Wretch 32, Devlin, Scorcher, Ny & Wiley. It was hosted by Ras Kwame(Radio One extra) and UK songstress Kele Le Roc. Because of the huge contribution, the hosts were invited to host the second OMA's, which was held in the legendary Bush Hall venue in Shepherds Bush last year.
