Oathbringer is an upcoming 2017 epic fantasy novel written by American author Brandon Sanderson and the third book in The Stormlight Archive series. It will be published by Tor Books and is scheduled to be released on November 14, 2017. As with its predecessors, the unabridged audiobook will be read by narrator team Michael Kramer and Kate Reading. After realizing the book took much more time to work on than originally planned, Sanderson wrote a novella called Edgedancer, following the character Lift and which was later published in Arcanum Unbounded, a Cosmere related collection of stories.

Sanderson has provided numerous updates on Reddit about his progress on the book. Three weeks after his final update, Tor announced that Sanderson had completed his first draft, coming in at 461,223 words.

On March 16, 2017, Tor Books revealed the endpapers for Oathbringer, painted by American artist Michael Whelan. It shows Jasnah Kholin, sister of the Alethi king, defending a city against an invasion. She reaches for a Shardblade while simultaneously soulcasting a large hole in the city wall made by a giant beast. Three days later, Tor posted a blog that discussed details of the cover and how it may relate to the book's plot.

An audiobook version of the book is expected to be released on the same day as the hardcover version, and will be read by narrator team Kate Reading and Michael Kramer, who also read The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance, and several other books written by Sanderson, including the The Wheel of Time series.

The book will focus on flashbacks of Dalinar Kholin and follows the re-founding of the Knights Radiant at the end of Words of Radiance.
