Now and Always: 20 Years of Dreaming is a compilation album by British singer-songwriter Gabrielle to celebrate 20 years since her debut single, "Dreams".
After her album Always in 2007, Gabrielle had decided music was no longer fun and that she would retire. But after a chance meeting with producer Syience in a music studio she was visiting with a friend, she rekindled her love for music and the two made a couple of tracks together. Over the next few years Gabrielle experimented with different sounds and producers before being signed to Island Records by president Darcus Beese in 2013 after presenting him the newly recorded tracks.
The album consists of 34 tracks, including most of Gabrielle's singles, a number of album tracks and remixes, and seven brand new tracks.
The compilation includes all of Gabrielle's singles except the UK top 20 hits "If You Really Cared" (#15) and "Stay the Same" (#20), as well as the promotional single "You Used to Love Me". It also includes remixes of the hits "Forget About The World", "Rise" and "Sunshine". All three remixes were previously released as B-sides on the respective singles, but the versions of the "Sunshine" and "Rise" remixes included on the album are the versions released on Gabrielle's remix album Rise Underground.
The compilation includes seven album tracks which had not been released as singles - "Fallen Angel" (from Play to Win) "Falling" (from Rise), and five tracks from Gabrielle's most recent album Always. In total, the compilation includes seven of the thirteen tracks on Always (five album tracks and the two singles "Why" and "Every Little Teardrop").
