The Northside Festival is an annual eight-day summer showcase celebrating emerging "music, film, food, ideas and entrepreneurship" in Brooklyn, New York, United States. The festival is held at venues across the neighborhoods of Williamsburg and Greenpoint and is organized by Northside Media Group, the publishers of The L Magazine Brooklyn Magazine, and BAMbill. In 2011, over 250 indie rock, hip-hop and electronica performers were billed. Headliners included Guided By Voices, Beirut, Woods, Iceage, Theophilus London and Deertick (performing as Deervana).
Northside was started in 2009 by Brooklyn's Northside Media Group, which publishes the L Magazine and Brooklyn Magazine out of DUMBO, - New York Times
The festival is a showcase of Brooklyn's recent cultural renaissance.
Beginning with about 50 acts in 2009, the festival has expanded exponentially in three years.
