Northern Whig (newspaper)

The Northern Whig (from 1919 the Northern Whig and Belfast Post) was a daily regional newspaper in Ireland from 1824 until 1963. It was published in Belfast.

Its editorial line was liberal and unionist. Among its most notable editors was Joseph R. Fisher, B.L., who was in 1924 appointed Unionist commissioner of the Irish Boundary Commission.

In 1922, the Whig moved to premises in Bridge Street, where it remained until closure in 1963. From 1963 until 1997 the building housed offices. In 1997, it was renovated and turned into the Northern Whig bar.
