The Nokia Lumia 735 is a Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone developed by Nokia. Unveiled on 4 September 2014 at IFA Berlin, the device is a smartphone with a particular emphasis on "selfies"—aided by a 5-megapixel, wide-angle front-facing camera. The phone will be released in certain markets in a 3G-only dual SIM version, branded as the Lumia 730.
The Nokia Lumia 735 has a 1.2 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8926), and a Qualcomm Adreno 305 GPU, and has 1GB of system RAM. The Nokia Lumia 735 and Nokia Lumia 730 Dual sim comes with an internal storage capacity of 8 GB, and also support microSD expansion.
In May 2015, Microsoft released a Microsoft-branded version of the device (exclusive to Verizon in the US) with improved hardware (16Gb internal storage versus 8Gb) and comes with a later version of the software.
The Nokia Lumia 735 was released in 2014, and runs the Windows 10 Mobile operating system as the software can be upgraded continuously. All variants of the Lumia 735 are upgradable to Windows 10 Mobile. Many long time users of the phone reported that certain apps like Here Maps and Here Drive have been phased out. As of September 18, 2016, purchasers of a new Nokia Lumia 735, along with Microsoft Insider participants to the Windows 10 mobile environment have reported technology enhancements and software changes creating a compelling handset. While the Here Maps App is missed, it is reported that the Microsoft Maps App is very similar, and works very well with outstanding map graphics. Users also report that both the camera and video capture modes include a 'Pro' function with a myriad of enhancements including HDR for the camera and editing abilities which also works very well with the latest upgrade. The Cortana voice assistant allows hands free voice enabled instructions for most every task including the hands free use of the Groove Music App. Microsoft Cloud enabled services are second to none and are integrated into the handset. The battery can be removed, and a 128gb capable mini SD slot is provided along with wireless charging capability. The outstanding software package of the Windows 10 mobile environment has allowed the classic Nokia Lumia 735 to become an outstanding performer considering the tasks Microsoft has placed on itself. With most new 2016 smartphones being overpriced, lacking the long term software upgrades along with gimmick features that none of us really need, The Nokia Lumia 735 has become the real deal, while overcoming the Wall Street smartphone hype that other smartphone manufacturers rely on. This while becoming an even better performer in its own right over time with consistent technology upgrades. The Nokia Lumia 735 is still a compelling value package two years on with excellent features and software integration, and will delight both fans of Nokia form and function, tech geeks and the above average smart phone user.
