Nitya Mehra is a Bollywood film director and screenwriter. After working in television and as assistant director in films like Ang Lee's Life of Pi and Mira Nair's The Namesake, and The Reluctant Fundamentalist, she made her directorial debut with Eros Now's romantic drama Baar Baar Dekho.
Mehra was born in Amritsar into a Punjabi family. Her mother was a fashion designer. She was schooled at the Welham Girls School, Dehradun.
