The Nissan Kicks is a compact crossover produced by Nissan since 2016. The car was showcased across Brazil during summer 2016 to promote the 2016 Olympic Games, of which Nissan was a lead sponsor. Sales began in Brazil on August 5, by the end of he year it was introduced into other Latin American markets, and will eventually be sold in more than 80 countries. To cater to initial demand in Brazil, the Kicks is produced at Nissan’s benchmark plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Full-scale production is set to begin at the facility in Resende, Rio de Janeiro, from the first beginning of 2017.
Exterior elements include Nissan's V-motion grille, 'boomerang' head lamps and tail lamps and a floating roof with a “wrap-around visor” look. Inside is a sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel and touchscreen infotainment system.
Base variants are equipped with manual air conditioning, but higher spec versions come with a climate control system. On higher grade models, the infotainment system comes with a full colour screen, with audio, satellite navigation and full smartphone integration on offer, as well as access to Facebook, Google Search and Twitter.
