Nicolae Lupescu (born 17 December 1940) is a retired Romanian association football defender.

Lupescu was born in Bucharest and debuted in Divizia A with Rapid Bucureşti in 1962. He remained with Rapid for ten seasons, winning the league title in 1967 and the cup title in 1972. He played five seasons in Austria before retiring.

Lupescu earned 21 caps and scored 2 goals for the Romanian national team. He represented his country at the 1970 FIFA World Cup.

Nicolae is the father of another professional footballer, Ioan Lupescu.
