Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the title of several American comic book series published by Marvel Comics focusing on the various adventures of the character Nick Fury while working for the fictional organisation S.H.I.E.L.D.
From issue #135 (1965) to #168 (1968) Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. was part of the anthology series Strange Tales.
The 1968 series was written and drawn by Jim Steranko six issues before the title was passed on to several other writers and artists. It ran for 18 issues before ending in 1971.
In the 80s Marvel reprinted issue one and issue five of the 1968 series as nr 1 and nr 2 respectively.
In 1989 Marvel relaunched the series with a new creative team. It lasted for 47 issues.
In 2000 Marvel republished several issues of the 1968 series as a series.
