The Nicholls State Colonels softball team represents Nicholls State University in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Southland Conference. Nicholls State's first softball team was fielded in 1981. The team plays its home games at the 500-seat Colonels Softball Complex and are coached by Angel Santiago.
Regular Season
Tournament
The Colonels's inaugural season was in 1981. Entering the 2015 season, the team's overall record is 998–870–6. Winning four Southland Conference regular season titles (1992, 1994, 1995, 1996) and two Southland Conference Tournament titles (1996 and 1997), the Colonels have appeared in the NCAA Division I Softball Tournament three times (1995, 1996, 1997) with a tournament record of 3–6. The 1987 team appeared in the Women's NIT tournament winning one of three games.
