New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor


The New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor is one of the awards given by the New York Film Critics Circle to honor the finest achievements in filmmaking.

In the last three decades (1990s–2010s), the NYFCC has agreed with the Academy Awards on seven occasions: Nicolas Cage for Leaving Las Vegas (1995), Geoffrey Rush for Shine (1996), Forest Whitaker for The Last King of Scotland (2006), Daniel Day-Lewis for There Will Be Blood (2007), Sean Penn for Milk (2008), Colin Firth for The King's Speech (2010), and Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln (2012).
