New Philadelphia is located at 40°43′14″N 76°7′2″W / 40.72056°N 76.11722°W (40.720594, -76.117295), approximately 70 miles (110 km) northwest of the city of Philadelphia.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2), all of it land.
