On January 7, 2013, UNH football head coach Peter Rossomando was named the 2012 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year for Division II. Liberty Mutual recognizes coaches for "sportsmanship, integrity, responsibility, and excellence on and off the field."
On February 6th 2014, Coach Christopher Pincince was announced the new head coach of the Chargers. Coach Pincince previously worked with the Chargers and he is now returning to where his career began. During his first season with the chargers, as head coach, he finished with a record of 6-5 after a slow start to the season. The Chargers open up with a tough opponent, Slippery Rock, for their first game in the 2015 season. Coach Pincince's team is preparing and working hard in the off-season to achieve team goals. He expects his players to take responsibility and hold each other accountable; the team motto this year is "1 affects 100." The 2015 season looks bright for the University of New Haven Chargers.
UNH is ranked the best D2 women's volleyball team in the East. The 2012 season gave the UNH Chargers a final 30-2 record, the second best record in terms of winning percentage in program history, and 27-match winning streak. The season ended with a 3-1 loss to Indianapolis in the Elite Eight at the UWF Field House in Pensacola, FL.
