Neon Golden is the fifth studio album by German indie rock band The Notwist. It was released on 14 January 2002 in Europe by Virgin Records and on 25 February 2003 in the United States by Domino Recording Company to favourable reviews. The album's release and its success in the US has secured the band a sizable fan community.
The United States release included the additional tracks "Scoop", "Propeller 9", and "Formiga" from the previously released EP Scoop.
Online music magazine Pitchfork Media placed Neon Golden at number 131 on their list of top 200 albums of the 2000s, while placing the song "One with the Freaks" as the 318th best song of the 2000s.
