Neo Art & Logic


Joel Soisson is an American screenwriter, producer and director. He works primarily in the field of low-budget genre cinema and horror films. His numerous credits include Dracula 2000, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge, and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Soisson studied fine arts and character animation at Pratt Institute and film studies at the University of Southern California and the American Film Institute.

Soisson has written, produced, and directed numerous films since the early 1980s. His career began in 1982, when he worked as a production assistant on The Triumphs of a Man Called Horse, starring Richard Harris. His first screenplay was written for Hambone and Hillie, a family adventure film starring Lillian Gish and Candy Clark. Much of his filmography consists of horror and genre films. In 2000, he penned the screenplay to the ninth installment in the Children of the Corn franchise.

Soisson is president of independent production company, Neo Art and Logic, Inc., and has worked extensively with The Weinstein Company. Mr. Soisson was featured prominently in season 3 of the reality television series, Project Greenlight, which chronicled the making of the horror film, Feast, directed by then-neophite, John Gulager.

He currently lives in Los Angeles and works in Hollywood. His wife, Claudia Templeton, is an actress and production accountant.
