Nayakudu Vinayakudu is a 1980 Telugu, comedy film, produced by A. V. Subba Rao on Prasad Art Productions banner and directed by K. Pratyagatma. Starring Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, Jayalalitha in the lead roles and music composed by T. Chalapathi Rao.
It is noted for being the last film of the career of Jayalalitha as it released after the Tamil film Nadhiyai Thedi Vandha Kadal. It is last films for which Jayalalithaa ever came for shooting a film and worked as the lead heroine and also her last film in Telugu. This film was the last film directed by K. Pratyagatma at the age of 60. The film recorded as Blockbuster at the box office.
Chiranjeevi (Akkineni Nageshwara Rao) is a young Ph.D. and the leader of a student union who's fallen in love with Vasantha (Jayalalitha). Vasantha is the daughter of a corrupt Municipal Chairman, Vinayaka Rao (Rao Gopal Rao), who illicitly siphons off money from the people. Chiranjeevi is determined to stop his future father-in-law at any cost after Vinayaka Rao tries to ruin his sister's marriage. So Chiranjeevi contests against Vinayakarao in the next elections in an attempt to overthrow him and retain a semblance of order and peace in his community.
