Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) is the transport wing of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, which operates bus services in Navi Mumbai. NMMT buses serve the entire Navi Mumbai city as well as to certain parts of Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Dombivali, Badlapur, Taloja, Panvel and Uran.
NMMT has been operating in Navi Mumbai since 1996.
As of 2016, NMMT operates 450 buses within Navi Mumbai, as well as into Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, Uran and Panvel.
The NMMT operates 3 bus depots, Turbhe, Ghansoli and Asudgaon and proposed in Rabale.
The fares vary depending on the type. Paper tickets are valid only for single journey. Commuters also have the option to buy monthly and quarterly passes. Students get discounts on monthly and quarterly passes and senior citizens get discount on weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly passes.
Single journey fares are valid only for single trip between any two points. They are issued on paper ticket by the bus conductor. All fare payments must be made in cash, you can travel cashless in AC Volvo buses (E-ticket and Debit card). The fare depends on distance of the destination. Single journey fares are not valid for transfers.
Note:
• NMMT has made changes in the monthly bus pass rates by keeping the objectives and rules common and constant for the general public.
• The bus pass structure has been sorted into different types like 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year.
Note : The bus pass for AC buses is valid for regular buses also. But the regular bus pass is not valid for AC buses.
Additional facilities:
• 50% fare cut on student's pass.
• Free pass scheme for members of press (non AC buses).
• 75% concession for senior citizens.
• Special school buses available as per demand.
