National Geological Monument


National Geological Monument of India (also known as National Geo-Heritage Sites of India), (Hindi: भारतीय राष्ट्रीय भौगोलिक स्मारक), are geographical areas of national importance and heritage, notified as by the Government of India's Geological Survey of India (GSI), for their protection, maintenance, promotion and enhancement of tourism.

There are 26 notified National Geological Monument of India as per the latest notification of 09-March-2016. GSI or the respective State governments are responsible for taking necessary measures to protect these sites.
