Nanopsis (official name Nanopsis One) is the world's first super-resolution wide-field optical microscope that can resolve objects down to 70nm.Powered by SMAL (Super Resolution Microsphere Amplifying Lens), Nanopsis One pushes wide-field optical microscopy past the diffraction limit and into superresolution for a fraction of a cost of confocal super-resolution solutions like STED or conventional scanning electron microscopy. The microscope is the first commercial system to use microspheres with no need for direct contact with the sample.Combined with unique software and hardware, the system generates full-color large area scans of materials and life samples and opens up exciting possibilities for observing the nanoscale world in full color. Nanopsis One was launched on 29th of June 2017 in Manchester, United Kingdom at Citylabs 1.0.The concept was discovered by Prof Lin Li and Dr Wei Guo at The University of Manchester and published for the first time in Nature Science & Applications in 2013. and developed by a team of researchers lead by Dr. Sorin Laurentiu Stanescu at LIG Nanowise in Manchester.
