Mylius Prize of the Brera Academy

The Mylius Prize (Premio Enrico Mylius) consisted of two independent prestigious prizes for artistic achievement awarded by the Brera Academy of Fine Arts of Milan. The prizes were funded in 1841 by the Austro-German textile manufacturer, Heinrich Mylius (), founder of the Società d'incoraggiamento d'arti e mestieri () (SIAM), to promote landscape painting. Two prizes were typically assigned: the first was a yearly 700 Austrian Lira prize for an oil painting. A second 1000 Lira prize was awarded every two years for fresco work.

Later, the Mylius company was acquired by Antonio Bernocchi, who continued to fund the awards (from then on called the "Mylius-Bernocchi Prize"), alternating between painting/sculpture and industrial/textile design. Workers and other employees were included on the jury that made the selections. Prizes continued to be awarded into the early 20th century.

The recipients include Baldassare Verazzi, Silvio Poma, Giovanni Beltrami (), Giuseppe Amisani, Adriano Gajoni (), Osvaldo Bignami, Angelo Trezzini, Francesco Valaperta, Lorenzo Gignous, Raffaele Casnédi and Donato Frisia.
