Mussey Township is a civil township of St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,740 at the 2000 census.

The village of Capac is located within the township.

When the township was organized in 1855, it was named for Dexter Mussey, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from Macomb County and later Speaker of the House.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.0 square miles (93.2 km²), all land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3,740 people, 1,284 households, and 1,005 families residing in the township. The population density was 104.0 people per square mile (40.1/km²). There were 1,346 housing units at an average density of 37.4 per square mile (14.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 93.88% White, 0.19% African American, 0.72% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 3.66% from other races, and 1.28% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.81% of the population.

There were 1,284 households out of which 42.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.0% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.7% were non-families. 18.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.33.
