Mohammad Barkatullah (1898 – 1974), a Bangladeshi writer, was born in Sirajganj.
Barkatullah was a deputy secretary of education department of East Pakistan, later Bangladesh.
Barkatullah's literary works were included in the curriculum of school level, secondary, higher secondary and graduation level Bengali Literature in Bangladesh.
These books were written about ideology of Persian greats, Ferdousi, Rumi, Jami, Sa’di, Hafiz and many other Iranian Sufi (the core ideology of Islam) poets.
