Mother!

mother! is an upcoming American drama film, written and directed by Darren Aronofsky. It stars Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, and Ed Harris. Paramount Pictures will release the film on October 13, 2017.

A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.

On October 13, 2015, Variety reported that Darren Aronofsky was eyeing a spring start of his next untitled project based on his own script, and Jennifer Lawrence was in talks to join the film. The project was not yet attached with any studio but it would probably go to New Regency under their first-look deal with Aronofsky. On January 11, 2016, it was reported that Paramount Pictures would release the film, while Javier Bardem was in talks to star alongside Lawrence.Domhnall Gleeson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris, and Brian Gleeson were added to the cast in April 2016.

On May 25, 2016, it was reported that the film would begin shooting in June in Montreal. Shooting for the film began on June 13, 2016, and concluded on August 28, 2016.

On October 11, 2016, it was reported that The Theory of Everything and Arrival composer Jóhann Jóhannsson will be providing the score for the film. This will be the first Aronofsky film without composer Clint Mansell's involvement.
