Moringa ovalifolia is an endemic tree of Namibia and southwestern Angola.
It is a succulent-stemmed, erect tree found in desert and semi-desert areas. The plant is tall and can grow up to 7 meters in height. It is deciduous and has a main branch up to 1 meter in diameter.
Moringa ovalifolia occurs on rocky escarpment passes leading to the Namib Desert. The 'Sprokieswoud' of Etosha National Park is made up of dense stands of these trees.
