Michael R. "Mike" McCarthy (born August 27, 1951, Hancock, Iowa) is an American businessman. He is the co-founder and chairman of the McCarthy Group, LLC, and of McCarthy Capital Corporation, an investment firm based in Omaha, Nebraska, which manages more than $900 million USD in assets.
McCarthy graduated from College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. In 1986 he co-founded McCarthy Group, LLC, with Rich Jarvis. He is responsible for the management of McCarthy Group and chairman of the underwriting committee. McCarthy was a director of HDR, Inc. and Streck.
McCarthy serves on the board of directors for several nonprofit community organizations. They include the Omaha Community Foundation, Heritage Services, Inc., Joslyn Art Museum, and Creighton University.
