Michael David Ellis (born January 9, 1973) is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in a by-election on October 27, 2014. He represents the electoral district of Calgary-West as a member of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta.
He had previously challenged his predecessor, Ken Hughes, in a nomination contest in the same district for the Alberta general election, 2012,
Prior to election, Ellis was a police sergeant with the Calgary Police Service. Born and raised in Calgary, he is married with three children.
