Michael A. "Mike" O'Pake (February 2, 1940 – December 27, 2010) was a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania State Senate who represented the 11th District since his election in 1972. He had been the Democratic Whip in Pennsylvania since 2000, having been elected by his colleagues to the position for the 6th consecutive time. He was previously a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1969 through 1972. O'Pake, an alumnus of Saint Joseph's University, was honored on campus with the naming of a sports complex in his name, the O'Pake Recreational Center.
Senator O'Pake died Monday December 27, 2010, at age 70, following complications suffered during heart bypass surgery.
