Michael Margotta

Michael Margotta (born 1946, Pearl River, New York) is an American actor.

Margotta appeared in the film that was Jack Nicholson's directorial debut, Drive, He Said (1971). In the year of its release, the film caused a stir because of Margotta appearing fully nude in a mental breakdown scene. Censors at the time attempted to give the film an X rating.

On television, Margotta played a youthful Butch Cassidy, originally surnamed Parker, in the syndicated television series Death Valley Days, hosted by Robert Taylor. In the story line, the 16-year-old Parker, rebellious against his father, Maxy Parker (Russ Conway) and his bishop, played by William Zucker, takes the name of a much older rustler acquaintance, Mike Cassidy (Tony Russel) and sets forth for Salt Lake City in search of riotous living. The episode aired the same year as the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Margotta was nominated for an Emmy for his appearance on Kojak in 1976.
