Lohan was born on December 16, 1987 in New York City. He is the second child and the oldest son of Michael Lohan and Donata Melina Nicolette "Dina" (Sullivan) Lohan. He is the younger brother of actress Lindsay Lohan, and the older brother of singer-model Ali Lohan and Dakota "Cody" Lohan. Through his father and his former partner Kristi Horn, Lohan has a younger half-sister, Ashley Horn. He also has two younger half-brothers, Landon and Logan Lohan, through his father's second marriage to former tabloid reporter Kate Major.
Lohan attended Sanford H. Calhoun High School in Merrick, New York, on Long Island. There he was a member of the basketball and swimming-and-diving teams, as well as the lacrosse, for which he was an academic all-conference selection. In 2010 he graduated from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where he studied business administration. He also played lacrosse as a midfielder in 2007, 2009, and 2010, missing the 2008 season due to a wrist injury.
A year after college, Lohan worked for New York City tavern corporation FunBars, heading corporate events for the hospitality group. In 2012, he became a strategic advisor for the karaoke app Just Sing It, and by 2014 was working for the shopping app Vigme.
