Michele "Mica" Mosbacher (born July 20, 1953) is the American author (Racing Forward), journalist, former RNC finance co-chair, and policy analyst and republican strategist. She is the widow of Robert Mosbacher, 28th U.S. Secretary of Commerce. Mica is frequent guest on Fox News/Business, ITN, BBC World, TRT, Al Jazeera, CBC Canada, and NPR. A co chair of 5 Presidential campaigns, a National Surrogate for President Donald J Trump (campaign).
Her career in journalism began in 1972 when Mosbacher interned as a news reporter at NBC affiliate KPRC-TV in Houston. While at KPRC, she was among the first female reporters in Houston. She won two awards in print journalism from the Houston Press.
Mosbacher's early job experience was in Corporate Communications-energy sector for Houston Natural Gas and Mitchell Energy and Development and earned several prestigious writing awards. She later served as press secretary for Southern Political Consulting. Additionally she freelanced as a feature writer for several publications.
In 1985, she married Donald C. Duncan, Jr., an attorney. They had one son, Donald C. Duncan, III of Austin. She has two grandsons, Donald Cameron Duncan IV and Harris Duncan. In 2000, she married Robert Mosbacher, Sr., 28th U.S. Secretary of Commerce and CEO of Mosbacher Energy.
Mosbacher became involved with politics in Memphis, when she worked with the precinct chair placing yard signs in support of senate candidate Howard Baker. Active in Young Republicans, she volunteered in Richard Nixon's presidential campaign.
Mosbacher was the national co-chairwoman, Women for McCain in the 2008 presidential campaign, and the statewide co-chair for Texas Governor Rick Perry. She served as Inaugural Chair for Governor Perry in 2007, and national co-chair of Perry’s presidential campaign in 2012. She also served as a National Finance Co-chair for the Republican National Committee in 2012. She was also appointed by the Governor to a six-year term on the University of Houston's Board of Regents. Mica served as vice chair of the board and chair of the endowment committee.
Under Vice President Bush, during 1988 presidential campaign, Mosbacher served as a press secretary -Advance Office Mosbacher served as Women for Cruz 2016 campaign for president and a national surrogate for Pres Elect Donald Trump.
