Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission

Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission (MSFC) was the owner and operator of the now demolished Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis. The MSFC was established in 1977, by the Minnesota Legislature. The MSFC consisted of seven members. Six were appointed by the Minneapolis City Council, and the chair was appointed by the Governor of Minnesota and cannot live in Minneapolis.

As part of the May 2012 law funding the new Vikings stadium, the legislature abolished the MSFC, giving the commission 90 days to transfer its assets to its successor organization, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority.
