Methven (/ˈmɛvɪn/; Scottish Gaelic: Meadhainnigh) is a large village in the Scottish region of Perth and Kinross, on the A85 road due west of the town of Perth. It is near the village of Almondbank. The village has its own primary school, church, bowling club, community halls, playing field with sports facilities and skate-park, and a variety of businesses.

There is a local primary school in the village, and a large co-educational boarding and day independent school nearby, called Glenalmond College, described by The Good Schools Guide as providing an "outstanding" quality of education.

The village has good food available from The Bell Tree Pub which also has restaurant (now closed - August 2016), also Chatni an Indian restaurant, a Chinese takeaway/chippie which has changed hands many times, a garage, haulage firm, a Village Convenience Store and a post office. For many years there was a tearoom called 'The Pantry', which has now become a Davidsons chemist. In February 2008, a sports and remedial massage parlour opened, replacing a hairdressing salon, but was closed by October 2008 and the unit was vacant for just under a year and a half, before it reopened as a DIY trader having opened shop by March 2010.This was the second time that the unit served as a DIY Store. This unit became vacant yet again before reopening in 2013 as Poppy's cafe. The village restaurant had a change of ownership in October 2009, becoming an Indian Restaurant. A second restaurant opened in early 2011 as part of a new business that was established with the take over, refurbishment and re-branding of the former 'Methven Arms Hotel'. There are many tradesmen in Methven, a company found on the main street is Goodwillie and Hunter. Other self-employed tradesmen also located in methven.
